Speaker Bio

Mrs. Jennifer Mason was born and raised in Akron, AL (Hale County). She is a PROUD graduate of the University of Alabama, where she obtained her Masters in Social Work and Psychology.

Mrs. Mason is a clinical licensed social worker with nearly 14 years of experience, ranging from substance dependency, acute mental illness, incarceration mental health, and non-profit work assignments. Mrs. Mason is the CEO and head clinician of Perception Counseling Services in downtown Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Mason is also an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama School of Social Work. Jennifer Mason also serves as the Lead Mental Health Provider at the Hale County Jail. She is a certified grief and cognitive processing therapist, specializing in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and grief. Due to her expertise, she has contributed to multiple publications and radio interviews.

In addition to these commitments, she serves on multiple boards throughout Tuscaloosa County and volunteers throughout the Black Belt region. Mrs. Mason currently serves on the leadership board for the Chamber of Commerce Ambassador’s Program and Tuscaloosa Junior League. Due to her unwavering commitment to the community and volunteer service, Mrs. Jennifer Mason was recognized by Congresswoman Terri Sewell as a COVID-19 HERO.

Jennifer enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and photography. Among her achievements, her greatest joy remains to be her time with family and close friends, especially her husband Arron and their 22 year old daughter.

The groups offered by RCW are named Transformed as this is the hopeful outcome of your experience in the group! Our Woman 2 Woman series is an empowerment group for single mothers. We encourage all ages of single mothers to come out for the valuable resources and wealth of information that will be offered at these sessions.

 

Regardless of what led to your singleness- divorce, death of a spouse, absent father, or planned singleness- there is a seat at the table for you! We only ask that you let us know you're coming so we can prepare for you.

 

This is an open group- you can attend as many sessions as you would like. Of course, we encourage you to attend them all! This group is offered once a month for 2 hours. We will engage in discussion and provide valuable information, as well as network and strengthen the community of single mothers. Please be on time.
